Private and Semi-Private Lessons

We offer both Private and Semi-Private lessons.  Please contact the studio for more information.

We offer students performance opportunities during the dance season to work on their performance skills, and increase their

Parent Viewing Week is held the last week of the Fall Session before our Christmas Break.  Parents are invited into class to view a "typical" class.  Your child will do warm-up, travelling across the floor and center work.  They will then perform a Christmas dance for you!  Costumes are not provided (Students wear their normal dance wear, or items they have at home or can be purchased inexpensively i.e. a red t-shirt, or Santa hat etc). In lieu of tickets, non-perishable food is collected for The Hamilton Dream Centre Food Bank.

The Annual Recital is held at the end of the Spring Session, and allows students to show off their new skills for family and friends.  Performing on stage is a magical experience, and eagerly anticipated by our students.  We typically do a production instead of the basic dance recital.  In 2013 we performed Cinderella, and in 2014 Alice in Wonderland.  The recital fee (payable per class registered in) is payable when a child enrols at NJADS to secure their spot in a class.  NJADS will refund the fee in June to any student who chooses not to participate in the recital; we must receive written notice of your intent to not participate by March 1st.  After that date recital fees are non-refundable. If a student withdraws from class before June they forfeit their recital fee.  The recital fee is $70.00 Dance with Me, Creative Movement for Tots and Pre-Dance classes, $80.00 for Level 1 and 2 classes, and $90.00 for Level 3 and 4 classes.  It includes the student's costume, two tickets to the recital for their parent's, a class picture, a gift for each child at the recital and administrative fees to cover the hall rental, technician and instructor fees, decorations etc.  If there is a balance owing for Level 3 and 4 classes, you will be advised by April 1st. (Sometimes there may be a small additional cost due to the older students needing adult sized costumes).

Students must be registered for the full dance season, or the Winter and Spring session to participate in the annual recital.  Although we allow students to join classes for the Spring session, these students will not be able to participate in the annual recital.

Our Creative Movement for Tots and Pre-Dance classes have their own mini year end recital.  This keeps the performance stress free for our little dancers, as they are able to stay in the audience with their parents, and the show usually runs for only approximately 30 minutes.

Our Dance with Me students will do an in studio performance (instead of performing onstage).  This will ease our youngest dancers into performing for family in a comfortable atmosphere.  They will still receive a costume, and everything else included in the recital package.

Cast of Alice in Wonderland

There are two ways to register for classes:
  • Per Session (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer).  One payment made at the time of registration for the full session fee as indicated on the registration form.
  • Per Dance Season (September through June for a total of 35 weeks).  Registering for the full dance season not only saves you 15%, but also guarantees that you will have a spot in your child's class for the full season.  Recital fee(s) are due at time of registration, along with 10 monthly equal billing payments via post-dated cheques or credit card for the 1st of the month September through June.

Discounts are given for students that enroll in more then one class per week for the full dance season; 5% for two classes, 10% for three classes, 15% for four classes and 20% for five classes a week.

: We do not offer registration on a monthly basis; you must either commit to the whole dance season (September through June) and pay monthly, or register for the session (Fall, Winter or Spring) and pay the fees in full at enrollment.

The following are the typical number of weeks per session.
