All parents must agree to our policies in our online portal prior to their child attending dance classes with us.
ENROLLMENT FOR 2017-2018 SEASON - By enrolling through our Studio Portal online, you are committing to the full dance season (September through June). Recital Fee is billed on July 1/17 (or due at time of registration if registering after that date). Recital Fee: all 30 minute classes $70.00, Level 1 & 2 classes $80.00, Level 3 classes $90.00 and Level 4 & 5 classes $100.00. (For split level classes please check the Recital Fee listed on the class). If there is a balance owing for Level 3, 4 or 5 classes, you will be advised by April 1st. (Sometimes there may be a small additional cost due to the older students needing adult sized costumes). NJADS Inc. will refund the Recital Fee in June to any student who chooses not to participate in the recital; we must receive written notice via email to not participate by February 1st (After that date recital fees are non-refundable). Tuition must be paid in full (through to June) to be eligible to receive a Recital Fee refund for non-participation in the recital. Any costumes not picked up by July 1st will be forfeited, and become property of NJADS Inc. without reimbursement.
EQUAL PAYMENT PLAN: Students enrolled in the full dance season receive a 15% discount for committing to the full dance season. Tuition is billed in 10 equal monthly payments. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month (Sept-June) via credit card or post-dated cheque. If your bill has not been paid by the 5th, there is a $10.00 late fee (Including HST = $11.30) per month. If your account is past due, we reserve the right to not allow students to participate in class. We do not release costumes, recital tickets or pictures to students with past due accounts, or allow them to register for new classes. Cash is not an accepted form of payment for monthly class fees, with the exception when paying the year in full.
ALTERNATE PAYMENT DUE DATE: You may alternately select to pre-pay your tuition on the 15th of each month. By selecting payment on the 15th at time of registration, you are authorizing to be billed the month before tuition is due. If no payment due date is selected, payment will default to the 1st of each month.
ENROLLMENT FOR SESSION (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer or Dance Camps) - Enrollment is not guaranteed until payment in full is received, and will be billed to the credit card on file at time of registration. We do not accept post-dated cheques for enrollment per session. Students wishing to register for the session only (Fall, Winter or Spring) should email the appropriate registration form on our website to the studio rather then using the online portal, or call us at (905) 529-9885.
N.S.F. CHEQUES must be paid within 7 days via cash, certified cheque or money order, plus a $20.00 service charge (Including HST = $22.60).
CANCELLING - Students wishing to withdraw from a class must do so in writing via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. A full refund will be issued if the studio changes the schedule/cancels a class. NJADS Inc. reservs the right to combine or cancel classes, temporarily or permanently, without advance notice, due to an emergency or low enrollment. Teachers are subject to change without notice. A full refund will be issued if a student withdraws before the start of a session subject to a $20.00 Administration Fee (Plus HST). Students withdrawing before the start of the Summer Session will be subject to a $10.00 Administration Fee (Plus HST).
After classes start, tuition fees are non-refundable once they are deposited each month. Future tuition payments will be cancelled for the 1st of the month. Students terminating within 30 days of starting classes will receive a refund of your recital fee (minus the $20.00 administration fee). After 30 days, recital fees are non-refundable, and are forfeited if a student withdraws from class. If notice is given to withdraw from class after April 1st, NJADS Inc. still requires monthly tuition payment until the end of the season in June.
Students should not attend class if they have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea. Please notify the studio if your child will not be attending class; call/text (905) 529-9885 or email email@example.com. Please note - missed classes (i.e. illness, vacation or other) for the dance season, camps or workshops are non-refundable. If the studio cancels class due to instructor illness (when a replacement cannot be found) classes will be re-scheduled. If the studio cancels class due to an emergency i.e. inclement weather, power outage etc. classes will not be re-scheduled and are non-refundable.
We will allow students to transfer classes, pending space in the new class requested. Please contact the studio for more information. We will not allow any class transfers after March 1/18.
Occasionally NJADS Inc. will post photographs and/or video of students on social media. I consent that they may do so for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation to my child or myself. If I do not wish for images of my child to be used, I must email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject Cancel Photo Release in the subject line. Please advise your child's name in the email. Students that have not signed the photo release should not participate in the class pictures taken throughout the year (i.e. parent viewing days, Halloween, Crazy Hair Day, Recital etc. as photos as these photos WILL be posted). If you do not wish to have your child's picture posted, please opt out of participating in recital or showcase.

Food and drinks other than water bottles are not permitted in the dance studios. Student's are encouraged to bring water to dance class!
Chewing gum while dancing is very dangerous; therefore gum is not allowed in any dance class at NJADS Inc.
Do not bring valuables to the studio. NJADS Inc. is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. All jackets, boots, and dance bags should be left in the change room.
NJADS Inc. is not responsible for supervising dancers in between classes. All children in the waiting areas must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Students are expected to come to class ready to dance. There is no specific colour or style required for our classes…half the fun for students is deciding what outfit to wear to dance class each week, and suits your child’s style! Any style of dance shoes are permitted. NOTE: Outdoor shoes are NOT permitted in the studio.
What Type of Shoes should my Child Wear to Dance Class?
A cost effective solution for younger children is to get "gymnastics" slippers for dance class. They are more economical then traditional leather slippers, and are also machine washable. Another perk is that they come with the elastics already sewn on! They typically fit the same size as your child's street shoes. If you do not have dance shoes, bare feet are acceptable. Please no street shoes in the dance studio.
Where can I Purchase Dance wear?
NJADS Inc. has dance tights available for purchase at our Reception Desk. We also have basic dance bodysuits for sale, or various dance costumes from time to time. Are Ballet Flats the Same as Ballet Slippers?
No, just because a shoe has the name “Ballet” in it, does not mean it is appropriate to wear to dance class. Dance shoes are typically made of leather or canvas. If they are sparkly, or the sole is inflexible, they are probably not appropriate to wear to dance class.
