What makes us different? We are more than a dance studio…we are a family. Our students make friendships that will last a lifetime. We also focus on teaching the whole student; giving them life skills such as dedication, determination & perseverance that will help them to succeed both now and for the rest of their lives.
Our friendly, professional staff nurture students to flourish & become passionate and confident dancers:
We try to make all of our students feel special, while providing them with a love of dance. We provide a positive, safe and encouraging environment for students to grow. We do this in part by ensuring that our music, movement and costume choices are always age appropriate and modest.
Our Competitive Dance Teams allow students to take their learning to the next level. We select local competitions that provide a positive environment for our students, where they will be able to enhance their skills, and get feedback for improvement.
We offer two ways to register; either for the full dance season (September through June), or by session (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer). Since you are not forced to register for an entire year, your child can register for the sessions that are convenient to them. This enables them to also try other activities, such as soccer or swimming. Dance is a great way to stay active, increase flexibility, and develop healthy fitness habits.
You will love watching your child twirling around the room, beaming with joy and blossoming with confidence. Who knows…your child may inspire you to take a dance class of your own!
Miss Amanda started taking dance lessons at the age of three because she was shy, and her mother thought it would be a good way to encourage her to come out of her shell. Over the years, her training has included Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Theatre, Yoga and Pilates. Amanda has also taken workshops in Indian, Tango, Afro/Caribbean, Hip Hop and Gymnastics. She knew from an early age that she wanted to one day own a dance studio, and was often known to be doodling logos or studio layouts. What do you love about dance? Why did you choose a career in dance? Dancing for me is a complete connection between body, mind and spirit. I feel completely in the moment when I dance. For me, dance often is my best form of communication. I remember when I was 16 years old and my beloved childhood instructor told me we would be creating our own choreography to teach and share with the rest of the class. It was only something small, like two counts of eight, but I can still recall the feeling of pride I had in my heart when I left that day. I love sharing dance with people in my life, and I am so thankful for each opportunity I get to do so.
Natalie’s training in dance began at the young age of two. Although Natalie grew up learning dance through various studios most of her competitive days were spent at Stars Academy in Burlington. Since, Natalie has completed two contracts abroad with Royal Caribbean International performing in a children’s stage production portraying the Character of Princess Fiona from Shrek. In 2017, Natalie choreographed a musical for her former high school which allowed her to see just how much of a passion she has for teaching. Natalie has spent the past three years pursuing both a career as a Professional Dancer in Toronto working for all female Hip Hop, Heels, Jazz and Showgirl companies as well as a career as a Dance teacher teaching for multiple companies such as In The Mix programs, YMCA day camps, the Great Big Theatre Company and Brightpath Kids. "In the past, I have recommended NJADS to family and friends looking for all the aspects of the higher priced studios (i.e. quality, teaching, fancy recital costumes, dance photos) at a family-friendly price. My 3 daughters look forward to their dance classes. They have made friends and have also been given leadership opportunities. I was also impressed early on, when my young daughter came home using dance terms. It is clear Miss Amanda cares about her students and is dedicated to running a quality studio." Jessica M, 2011
"Both of my daughters have been dancing with NJADS for many years, my oldest since Amanda opened her doors! We love the relaxed atmosphere of the studio. Amanda, along with the other instructors, Alyssa and Stephanie are fantastic! The kids learn the art of dance without the pressures of some competitive studios. They enjoy themselves, work hard and are proud of what they accomplish. The annual recital, along with the Christmas Showcase gives them a chance to perform for their families and friends which helps to build their confidence. Amanda has recently added a Junior and Senior Competitive Team which my daughter was a part of and absolutely loved. Thanks for all the years of dedication and hard work Amanda!" Christy S, 2012
"After having a tried a few other options, dancing with Amanda and her team has been our most successful experience to date! Love the relaxed, fun, friendly and encouraging atmosphere that is second to none." Nancy N, 2012
"I just wanted to reach out and thank you personally for a great year. I have seen Carmen gain so much confidence and have so much fun and I must confess, I was very trepidatious about getting her involved in the "dance" subculture. This has been a tremendous experience and we're looking forward to coming back in July to try ballet on for size." Janice C, 2013
"I can't say enough great things about this studio. Amanda is an excellent teacher, and my daughter loved being in her class. The studio is clean and bright, and very easy to get to which makes it easy to get your child to lessons. I HIGHLY recommend Not Just Another Dance Studio!" Christina M, 2013
"Affordable, fun and creative dance classes. My daughter has been with NJADS for seven years and loves it more every year. The classes have good structure and have given my daughter a solid foundation in three types of dance. But at the same... time, they allow her to be creative, wear what she likes and have fun. The recreational competitive teams also give her a chance to be part of a team, perform in front of judges and have a big sense of accomplishment without being too serious or competitive. I highly recommend Not Just Another Dance Studio." Joanna F, 2013
"My daughter has been dancing with NJADS since around 2009. Amanda and her staff, along with their student assistants, have created a very positive, friendly, family oriented environment where students and parents alike are made to feel welcome. The fees are very affordable and Amanda provides payment options that would suit any families needs. We love this studio and would recommend it to everyone! Great for experienced dancers as well as beginners.... little ones love the girls and thrive in their classes. We would not dance anywhere else!!!" Erin K, 2014
"Personalized for each child to build on their strengths and help them grow! My daughter has developed such poise, confidence, fitness, and has so much fun at the same time! She has found her 'thing' - in an environment that is completely supportive and encouraging." Carolyn, 2014
"My daughter has been dancing with this studio since she was 18 months old, starting with the Dance with Me classes. She's excited to start her third season now in ballet and tap and I'm excited to start the DWM with my son! All the instructors are excellent and they provide a structured but fun and laid back atmosphere where the kids can learn the dance techniques while having a blast and making some amazing friends. I'm so happy to have become part of the Not Just Another Dance Studio family!" Jodi, 2015
"My daughter has been dancing at NJADS for over a year now and we have loved every minute! The teachers are fantastic and they really nurture the children's interests and talents. The studio has a relaxed, laid back atmosphere which is very conducive to the children's growth, both personally and physically! Both my daughters now dance at Not Just Another Dance Studio and I am also enrolled in a class for September...we are so proud to be a part of the NJADS family! We wouldn't think of going anywhere else!" Kelly, 2015
"Personalized for each child to build on their strengths and help them grow! My daughter has developed such poise, confidence, fitness, and has so much fun at the same time! She has found her 'thing' - in an environment that is completely supportive and encouraging." Shari, 2016
"Olivia absolutely loves dancing. We had tried a couple dance studios before her going to NJADS, and the passion wasn't there. She always felt out of place and wasn't happy. I knew she loved dancing and she could have really good technique with the right teachers, but I could never get her into her comfort zone. Since she's been at NJADS, I can't believe the difference in her. She is excited for all of her dance classes and absolutely loves both you and Miss Aysha. She aspires to dance for a very long time and to perfect everything she does. When she's not at the studio, she's dancing at home, with her friends, in the car, when we're shopping, literally everywhere. And when she's not dancing, she's talking about dance or watching videos and creating her own choreography. This studio has inspired her more than you'll ever know and I'm so happy for this because she is so happy. Thanks for all you've done for her." Shannon, 2017
"NJADS has given my children more than just dance skills. My kids love going and have grown so much with the help of the teachers. They are more social, adventurous and confident." Parent of current student, 2018 Feedback survey.
"We love your studio so much. It's not who has the latest and greatest and the best of the best. When my daughter first started last summer we got a great feeling about your studio from just walking in. It's not full of negative cliques of people..everyone is there for their children not to bad talk others. Great job keeping a positive atmosphere and a great place for everyone! Your studio, yourself and your dance teachers have sparked something in my daughter. She has a new skip to her walk and a new confidence that I truly thank you for. She cannot wait to get on stage to perform. As a mother, it's just so beautiful to watch. Thank you again for all you do!" Trish M, 2019
